My name is Ivan, I am a graduated and an certified guide by the French government's Tourism, Culture and Communication departments, and I basically work in Alsace region.
I love the history, the traditions and the gastronomy of the Alsace region which is the native land of my mother.
People say that I have a natural gift for languages! I speak fluently French, English, Spanish and Catalan, but I have also some basic knowledge of the German, Alsatian and Esperanto languages.
I did some volunteer guided tours to train me before to go to the university. Speak and exchange with people make me love my trade. Each guided tour is different, and I always learn new things thanks to visitors questions. I like to see its surprising faces when I tell them anecdotes or small stories.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in « Development & Protection of the Cultural Heritage », with a specialisation in « Guide-Lecturer », from the University of Strasbourg, which allowed me to obtain the guide-lecturer professional card from French government.
I also have a diploma of « Guide, Information and Tourist Assistances » from the IES Hotel Escuela, even if I studied during one of the two years at the Lycée d'Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Alexandre Dumas in Strasbourg.
Before starting my University studies, I made a voluntary work as a Tour Leader during cultural organised trips by me, as well as voluntary walking tours in Strasbourg in my free time, in order to improve my communication skills, look deeper into the history, architecture and curiosities of the city. This experience let me share my passion with visitors and encourage me to become a professional guide.
In September 2016, I started my Bachelor's degree at the University of Strasbourg which made me improve my general and specific knowledge about my profession, as well as to earn new ones in several fields. It also gave me the chance to study in a magnificent campus, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.
During my studies at the university, I had to do an internship into a tourist organisation in order to practise my trade with real guests. I chose the Belfort visitor centre (Belfort Tourisme), because it was located into an unknown city for me, even if connected to Alsatian history until 1870s. It was a challenge for me! After my internship, I perfectly knew Belfort city and I develop my knowledge in military, industrial and fortification heritage.
After graduation, I started working as independent guide to share my passion with visitors of Strasbourg and its region. Its culture, its history, its built heritage that must be known by people. During my tours, I show my enthusiasm for this land, and I am friendly and dynamic to get the attention of every guest as you can check in the reviews about my tours.
If you choose me as your guide, you won't regret it! Click here to book a tour or to get informed about it.
